Methods

The EMNID Institute (Bielefeld) carried out the enquiry for this study in February - March 2004. 2018 randomly selected German citizens from all over the country were interviewed.
About 70% of the questions asked in the previous study of 2002 were also asked this time. So this year's results can be directly compared with those of the last study.
New topics which entered in the survey were, among others, "natural protection" and "ecological financial investment" while the topics "climate protection" and "information behaviour" were extended.
